You might have read the article in this weeks The Visitor (if you haven't you can read it here) West End Impact is a Christian Charity run by Morecambe Community Church making an impact in Morecambe's West End. Homelessness is a huge issue in Morecambe. Week in week out we come in contact with people who are wandering the streets at night, because they can't find a safe place to spend the night. One couple used to just throw themselves into some bushes so as not to be on display in a bushelter. Even for the few who find flats or bedsits to live in, their problems are far from over. With homelessness comes the social stigma, difficulty to find a job, benefits and the list goes on. At Impact people can come for a free meal, tea/coffee, warmth, friendly and positive atmosphere and an informal chat and help/advice on Thursdays 10 am - 12.30 pm and Sundays 2 - 4 pm.

Here is how you can help: - get a little extra shopping next time you go shopping (2 for 1 offers, buy 5 for £1) and drop it off during one of the Impact Sessions (every bit helps) - it costs about £20 to provide a meal for 20 people. Many of us have set up a standing order of £10 a month, which goes a long way to meet food bills and overheads. - donate tents, sleeping bags, flasks etc - drop in and lend a listening ear.

 West End Impact also runs a Parent Cafe (Expectation), a Youth Club (Impact Youth), an Art Group (Innovate), an Adult literacy Group and much more...
