I firstly just want to thank God sooooo much for this whole experience. For being the God of new starts and small details. Thank you Lord for being who You are and for everything you do amongst us.
Today was the handover ceremony for the Prince’s Trust team 21, to hand us back West End Impact. It was a fantastic morning with WEI packed with drop-in clients, fire officers, police officers, the High Sheriff, members of MCC, the Gardeners who have rented WEI building to us for the past 6years, the Prince’s Trust team and their supervisors, Mark, Sarah and other people who frequent the expectation cafe and other groups throughout the week. Just amazing and the presense of God just permeated the whole place.
The guys from Prince’s Trust had all made an effort and they all spoke really well even though it was especially difficult for some members. I just want to thank you all by name so - Thank You to: Rebecca, David, Steven, Catherine, Amy, Aaron, Dan, Simon, Adam, Nikki(sorry if spelt wrong), Dave & Chris you all did a fantastic job. It was a pleasure seeing your team dynamics change and develop as the project progressed and I enjoyed working with each and every one of you.
Thanks also to their team leaders Nicola, Dave, Ben, Jo and Donna for doing such a fantastic work with these young people and investing so much in them.
Thanks to Jill, Julia, Shirley and others for manning the hatch and keeping the kitchen flowing.
Special thanks to Brett who comes to the drop-in on Thursdays and Sundays - he did a fantastic job of officially re-opening West End Impact by cutting the ribbon. Thank you Brett!
Really what I’m trying to say is today felt like a celebration to God for all that makes West End Impact what it is. Looking around you could just see potential everywhere. Lives changing for the better. I pray for the conversations had, for the building of good relations with the various organisations and individuals and for every person who walks through that door to meet with Jesus there.
Thankyou Emma, Michl, Tracy - You’re all brilliant
Really

Well, after the last day working with the Prince’s Trust team21, it’s all been worth it. We’ve had the ups and downs the any new team have but we’ve all learnt from each other along the way and I feel that we’ve built good relationships with the team and their leaders. I was just so thankful to God today as I watched it all come together and saw the team of young people begin to take pride in what they have achieved. As one of them said in his summary ‘we can walk past the window and look in to see people having a warm meal or kids playing, and we can say to ourselves “I’ve helped make that place better for those people to now enjoy it”‘ That was awesome I really felt Jesus was right there with us today. (Sorry Steven if I got what you said wrong but that was the general gist of it)
I’m really looking forward to the official handover ceremony tomorrow at 11am and to the continued contact with the members of the team and with Nicola and Dave the team leaders. I hope to see you there tomorrow to support the team and west end impact.
what a day!

Well, another day of renovations at West End Impact has revealed another of our pastor’s multi-talents - plastering! Seriously though, Michl has worked really hard all week on this project as have Tracy and Emma to name a few. I think that this massive project has been more of an undertaking than we first realised but I pray that the finished thing will bless so many people’s lives and that the place will continue to have the same sense of God’s presence which has made it such a magnet so far. Thank you Michl, Tracy, Emma for being so dedicated I pray that God gives you all the strength - mental and physical - and all the peace of heart that you need. Anyone out there reading this who thinks they could help in whatever way to take some of the strain from the leaders of the church who are running MCC and simultatiously project managing and labouring the West End Impct renovations then please get in touch and we can see how we could help them out. Cheers

Well we just had the call this morning that the team from the Princes Trust have chosen our project for their community project this year. That means that we have a team of 12 or so older teenagers and some in the early twenties, helping us with the revamp @ West End Impact. This is excellent news and we are looking forward to working with these young enthusiastic young people. Some of them have already shown great interest in the work we do at WEI and are really wanting to do a great job for us. One of them has plastering skills so that’s going to be very useful. They will also ring round all the local companies to ask for donations of paint, and other materials. So this is really good news and we can’t wait to see the finished product. This does not mean less work for our team though, as we will have to be on site helping, getting stuck in , supervising and encouraging at all times, but it is a wonderful opportunity. The project will also get some press coverage and a visit from the Mayor. So its all good stuff. Yet another answer to prayer.
