Jeffrey Harrison, aged 17, of Lime Grove, Garstang, died when the Vauxhall Corsa he was a passenger in collided with the tree at 1.52am on Sunday in Burned House Lane, Preesall, near the Ranch House restaurant. A spokesman for Lancashire Ambulance said that the victim, a former Garstang High School pupil, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Was really sad to hear this had happened to one of the young people i worked with.
My prayers go out to his family.
Its heartbreaking to see a young life cut short.

Michl preached a very challenging sermon on sunday about what Jesus would say to Simon Cowell.
A lot of what he said was pretty hard to take for me, i was particually challenged by what he said about how much were we growing as christians.
God really challenged me about reading the bible more i make excuses about doing loads of things but i felt challenged to take time out.
So on Sunday evening i started reading the Living translation version of the bible in a year.
Its amazing in just a few days how different i feel it has really changed my perspective, i have had four difficult things to deal with this week and i have seen them from a different angle and i know i was much more confident in my approach.
It’s important to set ourselves challenges as christians and look back to see how far we have come it’s good for two reasons to feel confident in God for the changes, but sometimes to realise maybe we should be further than we are.
Our church will not grow unless we take steps towards growth as people.
It’s good to have preachers who challenge, so thank you and if your reading this maybe pray about what challenges God wants you to do.

It’s been great to have some of the youth at Sunday morning services at Grosvenor Park - they’ve added a new dimension to our church make-up, which can only be good. As we get ready to start the new term of youth groups I wanted to share a little of what we have to look forward to!
Impact youth on Friday’s is the larger group where we have a laugh together and chat and get to know each other better - it’s a great relaxed informal atmosphere where we welcome everyone. We also share something about why we follow Jesus or have a quick discussion on a “hot topic” or theme from the Bible.
Some of the youth are really interested in finding out more about Jesus and the impact He can have on their lives - this has birthed the new(ish!) Deeper Impact group on a Wednesday. In this smaller group we look more in depth at who Jesus is, what it means to follow Him, and much more. It also alows us to talk about the things which are of particular interest to those in the group, and address and specific question or concerns they might have. We aim to promote openness and respect within the group while helping the youth discover their God-given potential in life.
As we start a new school year I pray that Jesus will lead us into new waters and we will see the youth and the youth groups grow and develop along the journey. I pray for Jesus’ protection and guidance for this ministry and everyone involved in it, that everything we do will be to His glory.
If you feel you are able to commit to helping one friday a month with impact youth - just to be there a chat with the kids - then please e-mail me at zofia@mcc.uk.com and we can chat more about what we’re doing and which week in the month is best for you.
Thank you Lord for the youth and for your continuing provision.

We were saddened to hear the news of the home calling of Major Ian Thomas when the news came through this weekend. He was 92 and I guess he had more than his innings, but you just somehow expected him to go on forever. He was still writing books just last year and still spoke at the dedication of the Jubilee building project last year. What a man! and his wife too Mrs Joan Thomas, what a woman. It was Mrs T who went to buy Capernwray Hall @ the auction at Lancaster Town Hall some 60 years ago. How could they possibily have known that 60 years later they would have 25 different Torchbearer centres all over the world. From Austria to Wongabri in New Zealand. Just think of the hundreds of thousands of people who have visited these different centres all over the world, and have come to know God, have gain a better understanding of God, have learned of their God given talents and have come to know God better, and then gone on to serve God in various parts of the world. My own husband came to know Jesus at Schloss Klaus in Austria. When I am sure when he met his saviour face to face, Jesus said ‘well done my good and faithful servant!’ We pray for all the Thomas family and their friends at this time of grief, but we also look back on the amazing memories and legacy that Major Ian Thomas has left. PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS LIFE!!

I just wanted to share with you a rap or a Psalm that the kids were writing as part of ‘ALF’ kids church this morning. It was actually written by one of our youth group who has been coming to church since June.
You’re way to holy God, which is why we bow down to you.
You are the greatest, the greatest which is why we worship you.
You are way to powerful, which is why we love you.
You take care of us which is why we pray to you.
It started when we were teens
and used to doss around the streets
until we went to church and got offered a seat
and then we found out God luv’s us all
CHORUS Your way to holy god……
Dint believe in any of it
used to smoke drugs and spit
Oh then we saw an angel and then thought to myself, I’m wasting my time
and started to pick up my life.
Chorus : you’re way too holy God, which is why we bow down to you.
Just wanted to share that with you all as I thought it was amazing. God bless you Jody, Taryn and Tabs x

‘Sex Shop given the go ahead on Queen St’
Posted by tracy under cutting edge thoughts , news[3] Comments
Well unfortunately the council made another bad decision, in my opinion, last Thursday. I saw in the newspaper last week that said they were meeting to decide whether to give a licence for a sex shop to be opened on Queen St. Again they did not ask the oppion of the general public. Just as with the Office in Morecambe, of which the lease is now up for sale I might add, I don’t believe this is part of the overall plan of Morecambes’ regeneration. We see lots of things going on which are improving Morecambe and are making it into a family friendly place. I guess we can be assured that the Office didn’t last long so it really isn’t what Morecambe wants. As I said when the Office opened, people in the sex trade will now see Morecambe as an easy avenue to go down to get a licence, and that the Office would be the start of many trying to get a licence for similar things in the area. I guess I shouldn’t say ‘I told you so.’ Please write and tell us what you think, I know we had lots of comments when we wrote about the OFFICE.
