On Sunday, I loved the worship. I really felt that it was a very intimate, personal time with God for many people, and I thought it was wonderful, and that’s how I long for worship to be.
It got me thinking though, maybe that level of intimacy might scare off non-church people, the very people we want to come along! My own personal view [Disclaimer: not claiming this is the official "leadership" view!] is that it shouldn’t matter what other people think. Personally, I think more people will be drawn in by seeing and feeling God through worship than will be scared off, because becoming a Christian is about a spiritual change not a change in your head.
Having said that of course, there’s balance, and I’m not claiming for one minute we should start having 4 hour long deep ministry times as part of Sunday morning meetings (only 3 hours surely!).
I wonder if I’m alone in thinking that we shouldn’t water down worship in case we offend a non-Christian…
Just wanted to say we just went to set up at our new venue, and its amazing.
Such a warm, calm, atmosphere it feels like it was made for us.
It just feels so right.
We are very thankful.
I was so proud of everyone how they all work together at West End Impact today. A couple came in who were homeless and all they had was a tent. They had no ground sheet or sleeping bags or anything. They had been living in Blackpool and had set up home but there landlady had to sell so they came back to Morecambe and can’t get accommodation for one reason or another anyway. What a team we were this morning. First they got there lunch and some sleeping bags, then Doreen went wizzing off to International Aid to get some dry clothes for them, Joanne and I went to fetch the blow up bed that someone had given them but they couldn’t blow up and neither could we. Then Joanne went to buy a ground sheet and she gave them a waterproof jacket. I went back home after to find a double blow up matress but when we went back to the tent someone else had beaten us to it with two new blow up matresses. They also were given a flask of coffee and some biscuits. It was so great to see everyone just flying around getting this couple kitted out. We may not be able to give them much because we don’t have the funds to be able to help but what we had we could give. Hopefully it won’t rain tonight so they get some sleep. It’s just so wonderful when a team of Christians all in the same mind can work together and help. If anyone out there reading this has any old tents or any camping equiptment they don’t need please let us know. Donations of food and cleaning materials are also always welcome. It was great to be a part of the team this morning well done everyone God bless ya!

Yesterday we walked over as a group from Lancaster and Morecambe College to our New Meeting place of Grosvenor Park. It was so amazing we walked over and there was just such a peaceful atmosphere, we were like excited children when you go on holiday and you want to explore.
It just felt as God was saying this is it, I feel Grosvenor Park will be an amazing place of growth for MCC. Everything we have prayed for and have been promised just seems to be coming alive.
God reminded us again about the trinity and sent three seagulls flying overhead.
He reminded us again about the nets and bieng fisherman.
I am excited to see how things will progress, its great that God is moving in our midst and everyone is really ready to go.
I have a thankful happy heart this evening, nothing can take that away
I forgot to say on Sunday about Tuesday evening prayer meeting. It’s a bit late now but I think maybe if it was 7.15-8pm rather than 6.30-7.15pm this may fit in better with other people’s schedules?? Please let me know anyone if you’d like to meet on Tuesdays in general and what time is better for you then I can let everyone know on Sunday at GROSVENOR PARK (Hurray!) ready for next week.
If anyone does want to meet up tomorrow maybe give me a call/blog and can meet here (my house) at some point in the evening for a bit of thanks-full prayer!
