Don’t forget to logon to www.mcc.uk.com and listen to Emma’s message on Excellence from Sunday. If you were there and tasted the first sandwich I hope you weren’t ill. It was great though and if everybody took on board what she said we could start a revolution. I hope that people watch it and watch again until they really grasp what was said.

We went to ‘Encounter’ last night at the Guildhall Preston. It was good. Great worship band, loads of young people there, and as always what Erwin said was great. Some of it I heard before as I heard Erwin about 3 or 4 times now. It left me a little cold for some reason though. maybe it was where I am at at the moment but I don’t think so. It was just as if some churches, who were not really hitting the mark, had decided to get together to make something bigger to try and prove they could hit the mark. They had auditions for the band members and dancers, which is great because there is nothing wrong with doing things with excellence. I think it was just that to me it wasn’t church, it was a great gathering and loads of people had a great time and a lot were probably spoken to by God, but I think I am going off these big events. You see God wants to see reality and the reality is that probably a lot of these people were at this event because there own experience, in their own churches, is very different. Getting together and making it look bigger and better doesn’t really solve the issues. I may be completely barking up the wrong tree, but it was just my gut feeling. Anyway it was a good event and I am sure a lot of people were blessed. Zofia came away with a whole library of Erwins books which are all really good, well the ones I read are anyway. ‘The Unstoppable Fource’ being one of my favourites.

Well we are well on the way with preparations for the ‘Gifted 2′ and ‘Risen’ events on the 3rd April @ The Platform in Morecambe. It’s going to be great, absolutely fantastic. We are already worn out before the day is here, with the preparation etc. If there is anyone out there that can be of help with getting the word out for this event we have leaflets available and tickets to sell for the evening event ‘Risen’. We’ve done most of the hard work but now we need people to come. We need people to tell people and bring people. This is not just any old Christian get together @ Easter this could be a life changing experience for your friend who you need to bring with you or your neighbour or work collegue. We want people to know and experience the real meaning of Easter and come and discover for themselves what God did for them @ Easter and what a difference it can make in their lives. We will have a really fun time with loads to do but we need people to come.
Also if there is anyone out there feeling called to help in the pioneering work of a church plant we have lots of volunteer positions to fill. If anyone feels that they could help with the people we serve on Sundays and Thursdays at our IMPACT sessions, who are very much on the margin of society, we need those with skills to talk to these very needy people. We need people with experience in youth work at our ever expanding youth club and people with building and architectural skills to help us with the proposed purchase of West End Impact. We need solicitors, fundraisers, decorators, window fitters, cleaners, evangelists, people good at drama and creative communication skills. We need artists, and people into media and IT. We need people praying and sharing their faith and bringing and fetching and carrying. Just to let you know that their loads of opportunities to serve @ Morecambe Community Church and our West End Impact centre so if there is anyone out their just waiting for an opportunity, why not contact us @ info@mcc.uk.com and don’t forget to come and bring people on 3rd April 10am - 3pm and then ‘Risen’ 7.30pm See you there.

I just happened to stumbling on a great website called Charities Trust where you can register your charity. The idea is that anyone wanted to give to charity can do it through them and it will passed on to us. If anyone wants to use this site to donated to our charity the address is www.charitiestrust.org and you just go on West End Impact. All donations no matter how small are very much appreciated and will go to a great cause. Look for more details on what we do at West End Impact on our website www.mcc.uk.com Thank you for your donation!!!

Val preached a good message on freedom this morning. People just don’t realise the freedom we find in God as Christians. Many seem to think it’s all about do and don’t in the Christian faith, but it’s not its all about freedom. Michl mentioned before the message as well that all these Freedom movements like the feminist movement, gay rights, human rights, and so on, can only evolve out of a Christian culture because if we were a muslim country or communist, for example, we wouldn’t be allowed the freedom to campaign for rights. It’s only Christianity in its purest form that can give true freedom. Vals message will be on the website soon, we are just waiting for Neil to bring the church computer back from the conferenece he was at this weekend. Look at messages on www.mcc.uk.com

We had 25 young people at youth club last night. It was great!! A bit hard work because we have limited space, but great!!! It is so encouraging when they ask you questions about God and one guy asked for a Bible. I bought a New Century Version and the first 30 days with the Bible by ‘Alpha’. These kids just love youth and we love them. Six of the girls are going to do a Street Jazz dance to a Group 1 Crew number at the ‘Risen’ event. They are all so excited about it. Hopefully we will be starting a discussion group or Youth Alpha type group a little later on in the year, so if anyone is interested and has questions about the Christian faith do not hesitate to contact us. info@mcc.uk.com

Well things are coming together for our great Easter events on the 3rd April. The Art day from 10am - 3pm ‘Gifted 2′ is sounding better and better everytime Emma talks about it. There will be cermanics, recycled sculpture making, seed planting, still life painting, card making, a balloon race, biscuit and sweet making, a art exhibition, an art wall (where people can come and express themselves), sand painting with dvd of a sand painter, a slide show and photography, foot massage, an organic cafe and more. We are running an art competition (details on the website www.mcc.uk.com) which will hopefully be judged by Chas Jacobs himself and the prize is one of his signed prints. Then in the evening starting at 7.30pm we will have the band called ‘Thirst’ who seem to have quite a following in the area, we will have my girls from youth club dancing to ‘Group 1 Crew’ and we will have a drama media production called ‘I’m an Easter character get me out of here’. There will also be a few surprises and more important than anything we will bring across the fact that Easter is still just as meaningful 2000 years on. We will present a message of hope in a relevant up-to-date way that will show people the reallity of Jesus Christ and his death and resurrection, and what a difference it can make to our lives. We want to present the real meaning of Easter. It’s going to be great!! People will have fun, and a life changing experience. The entrance is free during the day and there are tickets at £1 just to cover some of the costs in the evening. You will find the details by contacting us or at the Tourist Information Centre in Morecambe.

I had a meeting with a lovely lady called Alison Kinnon of the West End Management Team at the ‘Winning Back the West End’ office on Albert Road today. It was a very informative meeting discussing the two sections of their initiative, one being the work with the community and the other being the actual bricks and mortar regeneration. The plans for the regeneration look great and they are trying to help in the community, with the little funds they have been allocated, as much as possible. People need to inform them as much of your community projects to give them a bigger picture and so that people can see that not everything is so negative in the West End of Morecambe. I informed her of all that we do at West End Impact and she was very supportive and positive about the work we are doing, even when I said that we are a Christian organisation. I hope that she saw that we at West End Impact want to do things with excellence to bring honour to God and that we want to serve the community with the best that we have. She asked if our services were available to anyone, well of course they are. I feel that sometimes people see all that the church does is only for the select few, God forbid if we give that impression. We accept anyone into West End Impact whatever shape, size, or background. Well I am glad that we have this contact now with the West End Management team and I hope we work together for the regeneration of people lives in the West End of Morecambe, well actually the whole of Morecambe and Lancaster.
