Alf 2 has arrived!!!! Last year in Kids church we thought we would try the Viz-a-viz material called ALF. It was great, with games, dvd, crafts, songs and loads of fun. It had a great effect on the kids and they all loved it. We had around 14 children on a good day. Well now ALF 2 is here and it looks equally as good if not better. It’s a similar format with one or two differences, as it is more concentrated on how kids can learn to follow on from what they learnt in ALF 1. It covers things like ‘Following Jesus’, ‘Prayer’, ‘The Bible’ and ‘Church’ and it takes a lot of the stories from the Gospel of Luke. I can’t wait to get our teeth stuck into it with kids. I just know what an effect ALF 1 had on the kids for good, and hopefully this will be even better. If anyone is interested in their kids coming to join us on Sunday mornings from 10.30 am - 12 ish we are at Lancaster and Morecambe College Sports Centre. It is an excellent opportunity to give your kids the chance to discover the benefits and treasure of the Christian faith, in a fun, exciting and memorable way. It’s and opportunity you can’t miss. Come and talk to us about it at Morecambe Community Church, or drop into our centre West End Impact @12/14 Heysham Road Morecambe.

This is just to let our readers know that our dear sister and friend Joanna Fawcett, went to be with her Maker and Lord on Wednesday evening just after 8 o’clock. She will be greatly missed but we all cherish the memories and times we speant with such lovely, incredible lady. As I have been ringing round all the phone numbers from her address book today, I have been finding out even more amazing things about our dear friend that we never knew. She was such a quiet, private, unasuming person, who always thought of others rather than herself. I think that we could write a book about her life, but I’m not sure if she would have wanted that. We know that she served her Lord Jesus well whilst she was here with us and she touched so many peoples lives that it’s not possible to count them all. I wonder how many people will be at the funeral on Tuesday? The funeral will be held at Stanley Road Baptist church in Morecambe at 11.00 am. She wanted it to be a celebration and not a morbid occasion, so we will try our best for her, but I sure many a tear will be shed. We miss her so much and I wish we would have shown her so much more how much we really appreciated her. She was so special to us all.

Just to wish all our readers a Happy New Year and may 2007 be a blessed fruitful year for you all. We are still playing the waiting game with Joanna. I said that she was a fighter. She is still fully aware of everything that people are saying and some wonderful things are happening in Joannas final hours. I met a guy called Chris yesterday, who Joanna had obviously influenced in an amazing way, his life on the street has now turned around and he is now a volunteer at the Homeless Action in Lancaster. He said that he had been reading from the Bible to Joanna and that Joanna had always told him that he should believe in Jesus. As I held her hand yesterday she responded by flickering her hand and even now she is still ministering to people. We pray though that it won’t be long before she can rest in peace. It’s so hard to see her like that but it is also very peaceful in her presence, knowing that soon she will meet her maker, and He will say to her ‘Well done my good and faithful servant’. It’s not an easy start to the new year for us, but we know that out of ashes hope will come. We know that God will use this whole thing for good and that much fruit will come out of this terrible pain and sadness. Joanna will be fine soon and she will be having the time of her life. Bless her, she has left us with so many wonderful memories which we will never forget, what an amazing woman.
God Bless you all
