Did you read on the BBC news today that there is a man on ‘Death Row’ in Afghanistan, because he has converted to the Christian faith. Under the interpretation of Islamic Sharia law on which Afghanistan’s constiution is based, Mr Rahman faces the death penalty unless he reconverts to Islam. The trial judge said during the case (quoting the Quran) ‘The Prophet Muhammad has said several times that those who convert from Islam should be killed if they refuse to come back.’ ‘Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance, kindness and integrity. That is why we have told him if he regrets what he did, then we will forgive him.’ The judge told the BBC website. To think that watching Question Time last night MP’s were debating wether we should let Muslims wear what they wanted in school, or whether they should be able to dictate to schools what they wear because of their religion. They should not have to stick by the rules because they have human rights. What kind of human rights does Mr Abdul Rahman have. He will be put to death because he became a Christian. I have nothing against Muslims, don’t get me wrong but I do have something against a religion that is such a dictatorship, when we are expected to allow anything, but they do not tollerate even anyone converting to Christianity. It’s just not right!!!!
Just to let all our readers know that on Friday 24th March @ 7 pm we will opening up ‘West End Impact’ for youth. Jade and Talan are going to bring all their friends from school, who would normally just been hanging out on street corners. It’s so hard when they don’t have anywhere to go so we will give them somewhere to go. We hopefully will have a snooker table and a table football, and X-box and a tuck shop open. Hopefully it will be a success and we hope that we can give these kids a chance to find their way successfully into adulthood without too many scrapes. We just want to be there for them basically and give them a place to go. So let’s give it a go and see what happens.
Did you just watch ‘Dispatches’ on Channel 4. What a strange attack on Christians. Especially the headteacher of the school he was at. So intimidating!!! Making him out to be totally unreasonable, and stupid because he could entertain the fact that the world could have been created by God in just six days. As I said before he could have created it in six seconds if he had wanted to He is God, a supernatural being. I don’t want to get into a debate as to whether it was actually six literal days or not, but to say that the headteacher and a few weirdo people in Texas are the only people that could believe that is soooo far from the truth. This programme was so negative and one sided and quite laughable if it wasn’t so sad. I can’t even remember the presenters name, he made such an impression on me. The whole programme was just yet another attact on Christianity, making it out to be so far fetched and unbelievable. The only positive thing I heard him say was that ‘Teen Challenge’ (a Christian ministry to those with adictions) had a 2 thirds success rate. Was he actually admitting that there must be something in the power of God at work in peoples lives? Well I know there is as I see it on a weekly, if not daily basis, in the lives of the many people I see on a weekly basis.

Cause he is a politician!? Who made that rule? Who decided that the UK is a secular country? Thought the Queen was the head of the Church of England?
Just praying alone would not have got Blair to where he is now. Surely he wouldn’t just have made a decision as big as the Iraq war without using his brain. If he was driven by radical religious beliefs alone, it would be worrying. Probably as worrying that according to a recent poll 40 % of UK Muslims want Sharia Law in the UK.
So Tony prays. Good. At least he has a conscience. Not the most common thing in politics these days.
What is all the big fuss about?
He knows that he eventually has to answer to a bigger authority than just the British voting public.
On Monday there is a documentary on Channel 4 called ‘The New Fundamentalists’. From what I can gather it is talking against a group going into schools to evangelise. It is making out that it is a new Christian cult that is so extreme that it actually believes in the Bible. What a far out thought. Do you sense a touch of sarcasm in my voice? It also finds it absolutely amazing that this ‘Christian cult’ also believes that the world was created in 6 days. Well that’s possible. In fact God could have done it in six seconds if he had wanted to. Although since God is out of time it could have taken six million years too. Anyway it will be an interesting programme to watch on Monday night at 8.00pm. I’m sure I will be writing some more coments after I’ve watched it. Don’t worry all you parents that have children in school Christianity and the idea of believeing in the Bible is no new thing and we are not going to brain wash your children in school.

Why have we invented the idea that if you make a mistake you have to resign? Tessa Jowell is under pressure, David Blunkett was and many others before them. Why?
Why do we fire people who have made a mistake and have the chance to learn from it? Wouldn’t that make them better leaders?
Instead we fire them and get someone for the job who hasn’t made the mistake yet and therefor hasn’t learned that lesson yet!
On top of that it isn’t hard to see that this breeds a culture of dishonesty. “Don’t let anyone find out about a mistake.” In the end we end up with leaders who haven’t become better leaders through making mistakes and learning from them. We end up with leaders who have gotten good at covering up their mistakes. Congratulations.
Compare this with Jesus’ style:
Peter, one of his closest disciples messes up big time and denies Jesus 3 times in a row. Jesus has a heart to heart talk with him and Peter becomes leader of the first christian church - a changed man.
