Isn’t it just great to see our friends Cannon & Ball on ‘I’m a Celebrity get me out of Here’! Can you beliveve it’s just over a year ago since we put on the ‘Rock around the Church’ show with them at the Dome in Morecambe. It’s funny to see them a year later dangling 100 ft up in the air in the jungle, swinging from a over sized bumble bee. I think it’s great that they are in there. I noticed Bobby already had them all singing Christmas Carols. It will be interesting to see if they get into conversation about Christianity and their relationship with God. It will be especially interesting if it comes into conversation with Jimmy Osmond who is a devout Mormon. Well I certainly think that Bobby and Tommy are dominating the programme since they got there and it is quite interesting viewing. Let’s see if either of them get to the final.

Well this will be the theme of our Christmas service on the 18th December. What’s all this silly stuff going on that you are not allowed to say Christmas lights but must now say Winter lights so that we are not beingreligiously bias. Apparantly they are even thinking of changing BC which is ‘before Christ’ to BP which does not stand for British Petrol but Before Present. How rediculous is it getting? Anyway we will make sure at our Christmas service, that Christ is put back into Christmas and we will have loads of fun and laughs doing it. It’s going to be a carbaret style show with lots of different acts, some with the Christmas message some just for fun. Simon Cowell will be there with other judges and will see the results of who really does have the ‘Xmas Factor.’ What are people so afraid of, that if Jesus really is who he says he is then they will have to do something about it in their lives? Come and join us for Christmas on the Sunday 18th December 10.30 am @ Lancaster and Morecambe College Sports Centre.

Well the rioting in France is still well under way. The peace process in Ireland is still not resolved. There are around 40 wars going on in the world right now and 19 of them are major. So why is there so much disunity about? Families in particular are under attack of being in complete comflict with one another. The Government are at the moment calling Tony Blair a failure because they couldn’t find it in themselves to be at one with him in his fight against terrorists. Talking of Terrorists!!** Well Christmas is coming which is when we celebrate the birth of Jesus and the message not only of Hope but of Peace. He came so that we may have peace. That we could experience his forgiveness and be at peace with God and with one another. Don’t kid yourself though their are many, many Christians not living at peace with one another. Why? Because there is a devil who’s favourite hobby is to cause disunity. He’s on the biggest anti-peace campaign going. So can we win? Yes we can, we can choose to forgive whoever we want to, it is in our strength and our control to forgive. Don’t let the Devil have his way, remember that Jesus is the Prince of Peace and with his power we can even bless our enemies. Give ‘Peace’ a chance this Christmas and for the rest of your life, forgive someone and be at peace with them today. You will give that stomach ulcer a better chance of recovery if you do.

Christmas is coming up fast, faster than some of us would like to admit. What is it all about? Do people really enjoy Christmas? I think some people don’t even remember much of it as they spend a lot of the time semi conscious and under the influence of drink. Maybe because they are afraid of not enjoying Christmas. Most people say well it’s lovely for the children, and it is but the children pick up on it too that you don’t really want to be with great aunt Maud, who you only ever see once a year. Well what about all those pressies you need to buy and that money that you need to spend that you really don’t have because you are up to your eyes in debt anyway. Is Christmas really a good time of year, I would love to stand in the street and do a survey on how many people really enjoy Christmas and especially the time running up to it. The thing is if you really don’t know what you are celebrating at Christmas and what it is really all about why are we celebrating it anyway. You see it’s not even really Christmas anymore it’s X-mas because we have to be politically correct. The real message of Christmas is something that we can have all year round. It’s to celebrate the fact that God brought hope back into this messy, broken world. He chose to send His son Jesus into this world to give everyone a new start another chance. People have been turning their back on God all the way through history, but his love and hope and peace and joy is so part of his character that he decided he would send us His only son. To show us how we should live and to show us that he is the Almighty God and he still does want to save us from the mess we get oursleves into when we turn our back on God, and decide to live our lives our way. He has given us hope all the hope we need, and if we decide to believe in him even this Christmas this world will have a bigger chance of being the place that God intended it to be. Why don’t have you a look a the real meaning of Christmas and recieve that hope that is so freely yours for the taking. Any questions about God, life, Jesus please contact us at info@mcc.uk.com.
