This Sunday (18th) there will be opportunity to ask some good, tough, interesting questions about the Christian Faith. If you are interested please post your questions on this blog, or send them to info@mcc.uk.com. There will also be chance to voice questions on the day…. but I suspect the answers might be more digestible if I have them before Saturday. xo Michl

I just want to say that this morning was fantastic - Michl preached on the Trinity and God met us right there and revealed what a powerful, awesome, and loving God HE is. There was such a powerful sense of the presence of God that even though we were tackling one of the biggest mysteries of our faith, it all seemed perfectly clear. It is good to be reminded that we have a loving and accepting God but also that He is all-powerful and should be approached with the respect and fear that He deserves - we have a living relationship with Jesus, whom we love, but not to forget that He was there at the beginning of the world along with God the Father and the Holy Spirit - the three in one hold the power of creation and we would do well to remeber that. Thank you Michl, Thank you Jesus, for revealing more of your truth to us.
Can I also say that everytime I looked up during worship I was met with the sight of the kids and their leaders having an absolute blast in BOB - kids church - and it made my heart so glad - as we were singing Hope is here - they were dancing and celebrating and I just thought, yes, we do have every reason to celebrate, to dance and sing because hope IS here - Jesus saves.

The great foundations of our faith are too often hidden behind complicated words and complex thoughts. But Jesus prayed:
“O Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
thank you for hiding the truth from those who think themselves so wise and clever,
and revealing it to the childlike.”
With this in mind we’re embarking on a series of messages to explore the great truths of the Christian faith on Sunday Mornings during January - in bitesize chunks.
Sunday 18th of Jan will be a ‘question and answer’ session on things you always wanted to ask but never got chance. Please post your queries here, or to michl@mcc.uk.com or drop them into the box at Church.

Wow what a service this morning!! Michl had a battle on his hands preparing that message this week, but it was well worth the fight. It really takes it out of you preaching and leading from the front, people expect to be able to follow you if you are a leader so its a massive responsibility.
What a message though. Living beyond ourselves, which means taking up our cross and surrendering our lives to Jesus in every part. Not just ok Lord you have this bit, but please don’t interfer in that bit because that’s my business. No please Lord I’m not ready to deal with that bit its too difficult I want to work on that bit at a later date. No not that one Lord I have been trying to avoid that issue in my life for years its too painful Lord. No Jesus wants every part no matter how hard or painful or sacrificial it may be. He sacrificed everything for us and we need to give our all, to HIM. He deserves it!!! We can not experience the HOPE of GLORY if we are not prepared first to take up the cross. Christ in us in constantly at work in us, battling against the old self and transforming us into his Christlikeness. It’s called sanctification and its a process that we must all go through until we get to heaven. Its a tall order but the rewards and the fruit we reap are great!!

Zofia’s excellent message about Sacficial Love is now online for your viewing and listening pleasure! Despite Zofia’s insistance that it wasn’t very good, I thought it was fantastic, really thought provoking, definately from God, and if I’m honest it made be feel uncomfortable, which is exactly how it should be if you ask me

Well I thought Michl’s talk on Courage, which is one of subject we’re tackling in this message series, was great!! Courage is not the absense of fear, but the realisation that something is so important that you have to do something about it. The courage to look at yourself and re-ivaluated you character or life style or issues. Seeing a mountain that takes your breath away, however big or small that may be in your situation, and being able to overcome it. For some people little things are big things but as we become more couragous they get smaller. We have to set ourselves aims and goals. Get out of bad habbits, get rid of a sense of failure, don’t let our history effect our destiny. Of course we can’t do this without the help of the Holy Spirit and the encouragement of one another. Anyway it was a great message and we will be dicussing it further on Wednesday in our small group at West End Impact from 10 am to 11.45. You can also here the message from Sunday online www.mcc.uk.com its as great message don’t miss out. Hope Neil’s managed to get it on!!

I thought this morning was really good. Zofia you’re drums were amazing!!! Good message Michl too. How you go that from Supercalifragalisticexpeallydoshas I don’t know, but it was a good excuse to show Mary Poppins. They don’t have films like they used to do they. It was so true thought that people really stuggle with what is actually true these days. People now think they can talk a bit from everything shake it all together and it will work for them. They are still left empty and searching though, and people think we as Christians are arrogant for saying that what we believe is true, but when it works and we see the truth in it how can you argue with God. Even when doubts come in God always seems to prove to us how real and true He is. God never ceases to amaze me, so I can’t argue with Him really, even if I try. Anyway listen to the message on this website, better still come to church next Sunday you will be made very welcome and you will have a great time.

Am just reading the book Emma mentioned in her message on Sunday - Sacred Pathways. It is really interesting and helpful to appreciate how different people worship with their different temperaments - I recommend having a look. It’s good to find out more about your own ‘worship temperament’ but it has also opened my eyes to what goes on with other people and not to judge or compare the way they worship with the way I do. All good stuff. Cheers Em.

I was confused this morning I have to admit.
Was Michl talking about Woah - as in, what you say to an errant horse, or Woe as in Woe is me, I’ve just got the latest council tax bill?
So - which is it? Well I guess, both, and I guess Jesus could well have meant both in Luke 11:37-52.
Because in fact, A Woah is a spiritual warning from God that if we don’t pay attention, it could well be a Woe is me situation. And you know what? God actually wants us to sharpen our spiritual ears. Sounds painful doesn’t it - and to be honest, as with every time God refines us and shapes our character, it probably will be! But undoubtably not as painful as the consequences of us not heeding God’s warning.
So next time God gives you a spiritual check about something, a Woah if you like, just remember the Woe that happens if you don’t listen!
And for those very keen to listen, the message is now online here.
